Stacy (LeBlanc) Salvo, Women’s Soccer, Class of 2006
A mainstay in the Huskies’ defense during her three-year career at Southern Maine, Stacy (LeBlanc) Salvo’s impact as a leader on and off the field extends beyond the stats sheet. Finishing her career as a two-time first team All-Little East Conference (2004, 2005) defender, Salvo was a New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England pick in her senior year (2005). A stalwart defender, Salvo played a major role in the 2005 squad that allowed just 20 goals in 22 games (.90 goals against per game), and helped the Huskies advance to the Little East Conference semifinals and earn a bid into the ECAC Championship tournament.
Transferring to USM from UMaine Farmington, Salvo quickly established herself as an integral part of the Huskies’ squad playing in 55 career games, and earning the role of captain as a senior. Salvo’s leadership extended beyond the pitch, earning her recognition from at the University, regional and national level. The 2006 recipient of the Athletic Department’s Paula D. Hodgdon Leadership Award, Salvo was named as the University’s and LEC’s Woman of the Year and was nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year honor.
A three-time William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete and co-president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Salvo earned the USM School of Business Outstanding Student-Award (2006), and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honor Society.
Earning CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, Salvo graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing in 2006 and earned her Master of Business Administration in 2008. Following her graduation, Salvo was the co-owner/Director of Business Operations for 14 Subway Sandwich franchises, stepping away after a decade of successful business to focus on her growing family. A mother of two, Salvo is now working as a Market Analyst for Ticketdance, LLC – helping support and grow her husband’s business.
