Richard Costello, Coach/Administrator 1953-1990. Richard “Doc” Costello is one the founding members of the USM Department of Athletics. Doc coached numerous sports during his tenure and was the department‘s Director of Athletics. He holds the distinction of being the only coach to win at least 200 games in both women’s and men’s basketball.
