Michelle Rollins of Portland, Class of 1980, was the first women basketball player at USM to crack the 1000-point barrier. She twice served as co-captain and was a first team all-state pick. The star field hockey player also was a two-time winner of the Dorothea Vlahakos Award. Rollins spent two years playing professional basketball in West Germany, and now is employed as an occupational therapist at Maine Medical Center.
