Nicole (Paradis) Pollock, Women’s Basketball, Class of 2010
A two-time team captain, two-time Little East Conference champion and a four-time NCAA Division III National Championship tournament participant, Nicole (Paradis) Pollock, Class of 2010, is another in a long-line of outstanding point guards to wear a USM women’s basketball uniform.
Making an immediate impact her first season with the Huskies, Pollock earned Little East Conference and Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) All-Rookie Team honors after helping guide the Huskies to the 2007 Little East Conference regular season and conference tournament titles, and into the NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen.
Earning first team MWBCA All-State and second team all-LEC honors in 2007-08 and 2008-09, Pollock’s leadership helped the Huskies earn the program’s 19th conference crown defeating rival Eastern Connecticut State University 64-59 on the Warriors home court. Paradis finished the game with seven points, five rebounds and three assists, including a game-tying three in the closing moments of the contest.
An adept passer and shooter, Pollock completed her outstanding four-year career with 837 points, 327 assists, and 171 steals. Known for her tenacity and spirited play, the 5-4 Pollock also rang up 14 career blocked shots, including a career and season best nine as a senior. Her 113 career threes ranks 10th in the USM history book, while her 35.8 career three-point shooting percentage is seventh all-time.
A four-time William B. Wise Scholar Athlete and Dean’s List student, Pollock earned her degree in Exercise Science (Health Fitness) in 2010. Pollock is currently an Onboarding Specialist with Unum in Portland, Maine.
