Southern Maine Athletics

Benedict Palubinskas of Westbrook, class of 1966, was named MVP in both basketball and baseball and served as captain for both squads. He is ranked in the top 10 in several basketball career records and during his baseball career averaged more than .300 at the plate. He hit a .338 clip in one season. The longtime teacher and coach at Westbrook Junior High School also heads the girls’  varsity basketball program at Westbrook High. His team just competed its third playoff appearance in as many years.
