Southern Maine Athletics

The first University of Southern Maine Husky men’s basketball player to earn Little East Conference All-Defensive Team honors, Drew Coppenrath was a three-year member of the team from 2005-2008, serving as the Huskies’ captain in his senior year (2007-2008).  

During the 2007-2008 season, Coppenrath had his best year statistically averaging 15.5 points (416 total), shooting 47.9 percent from the field.  Additionally, Coppenrath averaged 6.6 rebounds and led the team with 26 blocked shots.  At the conclusion of the 07-08 year, Coppenrath was named to the 2008 All-Little East Conference second team, in addition to earning the honor of LEC All-Defensive team. 

In just three seasons, Coppenrath accumulated 804 points, 413 rebounds, 54 assists, 44 blocked shots and 42 steals. The Huskies’ forward shot an outstanding 47.45 percent (326-for-687) over his career and was 40.0 percent from three-point range (60-for-150).  

Earning his degree in Business Administration from Southern Maine, Coppenrath has enjoyed a successful career in sales and was named one of Agren Appliance’s Top 3 Sales Professionals.
