      The first NCAA Division III All-American in University of Southern Maine men’s cross country program history, Tyler Jasudcompleted his career as a Husky as one of its most highly decorated student-athletes. 

      As a member of the Huskies’ cross country and track & field programs, Jasud was a two-time Little East Conference Runner of the Year (2008, 2009).  During the 2009 season, Jasud was in top form leading the team to the 2009 Little East Conference Championship.  He claimed the race’s individual crown with his first-place finish in a time of 26:02, outpacing his nearest competitor by 12 seconds.  Earning his spot in the 2009 NCAA Division III National Championship race Jasud put forth an extraordinary effort to seal his name in the Husky record books placing 22nd overall in a field of 276 of the top Division III runners in the nation with a time of 25:58.1 to earn the distinction of All-American. 

      As a member of the Huskies’ indoor and outdoor track & field teams, Jasud battled through injuries to help his teams capture conference championships during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.  Using his prowess and grit in the distance events, Jasud was the Division III All-ECAC, Maine State Intercollegiate, New England Alliance and  Little East Conference Champion in the 5000 meters.  Additionally, Jasud placed second overall at the 2009 New England Division III Regional Championships in the same event.

      Active in the Exercise Science Student Association (ESSA) during his time as a student-athlete, Jasud served as the student group’s as an officer and treasurer, and volunteered his time at the Gorham Nursing Home.  Earning his degree in Exercise Physiology in 2011, Jasud continued his education with Southern Maine and earned his Nursing degree in 2017.  He is presently a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Registered Nurse at MidCoast Hospital.
