KATIE SIBLEY, Class of 2007, Basketball

The starting point guard for the Huskies’ 2005 and 2006 NCAA Division III Final Four women’s basketball teams, Katie Sibley played in 116 games during her career (2003-2007) guiding USM to a remarkable 119-10 overall record and an outstanding 55-1 record against Little East Conference opponents.  During Sibley’s playing career, Southern Maine captured four consecutive Little East Conference regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championship tournament each of those seasons.  Sibley earned her degree in political science with a minor in sociology from USM in 2008, graduating with distinction as a member of the Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society and as a member of the Dean’s list from 2005-2008.  Sibley went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from the Appalachian School of Law in 2011, earning numerous citations for academic excellence.  She is now an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Maine.
