GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore
Aislin Davis (Tewksbury, Mass.) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' softball team has been named the Little East Conference Player of the Week. Earning the first weekly honor of her career, Davis is the second Husky to earn weekly honors from the LEC, and third player overall to earn a weekly accolade.
Daivs hit a remarkable .682 for the Huskies in a 5-1 week, going 15-for-22 from the plate with 10 runs scored from the Huskies' lead-off spot in the line-up. With an on-base percentage of .696, Davis had five multi-hit games, including four three-hit games. In a sweep of University of New England, Davis was 3-for-4 with two runs scored in both games. And in the first game of a doubleheader sweep at Salve Regina, Davis was a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored in the opener a 10-1 (5 inning) win. In Southern Maine's 7-1 win over Keene State in Little East action, Davis was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. The Huskies' leading hitter, Davis is hitting .484 (30-for-62) with a double, a triple and 30 runs scored. Hitting safely in the last seven games, Davis has 12 multi-hit games in 26 games played.
Southern Maine is on the road for its next two contests at Bowdoin on Wednesday (5:00 pm) for a doubleheader. The Huskies return to Little East Conference action on Saturday (1:00 pm) at Keene State, before hosting Plymouth State in a LEC doubleheader on Tuesday (4:00 pm)
