How It Happened: Game One
- Sydney Menz connected on a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth, breaking a 1-1 game, to deliver the 3-1 game one win for the Corsairs.
- Menz had the Corsairs up 1-0 over the Huskies in the third with a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Raelynn Perregaux for the first run of the game. Perregaux led off the inning for UMD with an infield single.
- Southern Maine rallied to tie the game in the top of the fifth. Senior Kristina Yebba (Danvers, Mass.) doubled to right to lead off the inning for the Huskies and came around to score hustling on a sacrifice bunt attempt from sophomore Aislin Davis (Tewksbury, Mass.) that led to a UMD error. Senior Ella Bezanson (Amesbury, Mass.) singled to center field to extend the inning with one out to give the Huskies runners on first and second, but UMD starter Brielle Kenney ended the USM rally with back-to-back strikeouts.
- Chole Edwards led off the fifth with a double to left for the Corsairs and moved to third on a fly-out. A line-out to left gave USM two outs and Edwards still holding at second, but back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Menz's single brought in two runs for UMD, but she was caught at second on a strong relay play trying to extend her single to end the inning.
- Southern Maine had a base runner in the sixth with a lead-off single from senior Olivia Levasseur (Amesbury, Mass.) but were unable to convert that into a run. In the top of the seventh, USM was retired in order for the 3-1 final.
Game Two
- Lena Tsonis, Olivia Ali and Olivia Silva each had RBI singles in the bottom of the fifth to break open a one-run game as the Corsairs took game two 7-3. The Corsairs had four hits and two walks in the pivotal fifth inning for the sweep.
- The Corsairs took a 2-0 lead scoring a run in the first and second inning. The Huskies tied the game up in the bottom of the third. Davis led off the third with an infield single, and came around to score on an RBI double from sophomore Gwen Christie (Barnstead, NH/Prospect Mountain). After a single from Bezanson gave the Huskies runners on first and second, UMD got the next two ground outs before Levasseur came up with an RBI single to center for a 2-2 game.
- The Corsairs retook the lead in the bottom of the third as Tsonis drove in two runs with an RBI single to center field. Tsonis drove in Bre Fontes and Menz. Fontes reached on a single while Menz reached on a fielder's choice play.
- Down 4-2, the Huskies cut their deficit to one as senior Mackenzie Renner (Alton, NH/Prospect Mountain) led off the top of the fourth with a solo home run to left field. But the Huskies were unable to score again despite having the bases loaded with one out as UMD ended the inning with a double-play.
- The score remained unchanged until the bottom of the fifth when the Corsairs drove in three runs on four hits and two walks. Down three, USM was retired in order in the sixth, and was unable to convert on a base-runner in the seventh for the final.
