Clinging to a narrow 2-1 lead over the Huskies, Chicago secured its victory with a seven-run outburst in the fifth inning to end the game.  The Maroons scored an unearned run in the bottom of the second to take an early 1-0 lead, but the Huskies knotted the score up in the top of the third on an RBI single from senior shortstop Kaylie DeMillo (Jay, Maine).  DeMillo recorded her first collegiate hit and first collegiate RBI on one play when she singled to center field to plate junior P/OF Stefanie Stockwell (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle).  Stockwell led off the inning with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice but before coming around to score on DeMillo's single.

Chicago answered right back in the bottom of the third however to regain its lead on an RBI single through the right side from freshman OF Raechel Cloud (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier).

Both teams were scoreless through the next one and a half innings before Maroons tagged relief pitcher Caitlin LeBorgne (Scarborough, Maine) for seven runs on four hits, three walks and one error for the final.

Chicago hurler, freshman Tabetha Bohac (Lake Zurich, Ill.) earned her first career win scattering four hits over five innings without allowing an earned run.  Bohac struck out five and did not issue a walk.  Southern Maine's Stockwell started the game in the circle for the Huskies and went 4.0 innings.  She allowed three hits and did not give up an earned run.  Stockwell fanned two batters and yielded a pair of walks.  LeBorgne was tagged with the loss.

In the second game, Elmhurst pounded out 14 hits, including a quartet of doubles, to get past the Huskies 10-0.  Freshman OF Ele Walter (Winfield, Ill./Wheaton North), senior 1B Rose Wysocki (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) and sophomore OF Clare Bukowski (Berwyn, Ill./Morton) each had two hits to pace the Blue Jays, while Bukowski drove in a pair of runs.
