BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's cross country team began the 2025 season on Saturday morning with a first-place finish at Ron Ouellette Invitational hosted by the University of New England led by senior captain
Michael Cyr (Caribou, Maine), who was the event champion with a time of 16:05.1 on the 5k course. Four of the top five runners were Huskies as junior captain
Cyrus Evans (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue) placed third with a time of 16:21.3, freshman
Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed fourth at 16:22.3, and sophomore
Preston Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) clocked in at 16:22.5 to place fifth.

On the Course:
- Freshman Evan Schneider (Old Orchard Beach, Maine/Old Orchard Beach) also finished in the top 10 with a time of 16:42.6 to place eighth.
- Freshman Gavin Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) and Camden Cyr (Kittery, Maine/Traip Academy) placed 11th and 12th with times of 17:11.3 and 17:17.0.
- Junior Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine) placed 16th with a time of 17:31.1.
- Senior Camden Bessey (Westbrook, Maine) and freshman Tristan Plumb (Merrimack, N.H.) placed 21st and 22nd with times of 17:59.8 and 18:02.8.
- Freshman Ethan Cadorette (Biddeford, Maine) and sophomore Jack Tassinari (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) ran times of 18:49.3 and 18:59.0 to place 28th and 29th.
