HOPKINTON, N.H. – Senior captain
Michael Cyr (Caribou, Maine) placed 50th in the men's 8k on Saturday at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championships with a time of 26:08.4 to finish as the top runner for the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's cross country team. Cyr's time ranked fourth among runners from Little East Conference schools. Three additional Huskies, junior captain
Cyrus Evans (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue) and freshmen
Evan Schneider (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) and
Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) also finished in the top 100 at the event.

The Huskies placed 14th in the team standings and ranked fourth among LEC teams. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology placed first as a team while Paulino Guevara Mateo from Fitchburg State was the regional champion with a time of 24:31.6.

On the Course:
- Evans ran the course in 26:50.2 to place 72nd.
- Schneider clocked in at 26:56.2 to place 75th.
- Dunne's time was 27:05.9 and he finished 80th.
- Sophomore Preston Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) placed 117th with a time of 27:46.5.
- Freshman Ethan Cadorette (Biddeford, Maine) ran a personal-best time of 27:52.8 to place 122th.
- Freshman Gavin Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) placed 138th with a time of 28:20.5
