GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore Jack Tassinari (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's cross country team was named as the team's representative for the inaugural Little East Conference Cross Country Sportsmanship Team. A new addition to the conference's cross country year-end awards, the Sportsmanship Team consists of one student-athlete from each member school that is nominated by their head coach.
 
Tassinari has competed in four meets this season for Southern Maine in his first season with the program. He ran a season-best 8k time of 30:25.8 last Saturday at the LEC Championship to place 82nd. The time was over a minute faster than his previous best of 31:45.1. He is majoring in Computer Science.
 
The next meet for the Huskies will be the NCAA Division III East Regional Championships on Saturday, November 14 at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
