2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships: Reitchel and Barnes Earn All-American Honors

GENEVA, Ohio – Junior Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) and senior Zoe Barnes each earned All-American honors on Thursday afternoon 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Reitchel placed fourth in the javelin to earn First Team All-American status. Barnes earned Second Team All-American honors by placing 10th in the discus.

Reitchel recorded a throw of 41.23m to place fourth. The distance came on her second throw of the day. Reitchel, who placed 22nd at the 2023 National Championship meet as a freshman, is the fourth athlete in program history to earn All-American honors in the javelin. She joins 2021 NCAA Division III champion Sophia Slovenski, Bethany Dumas (2012), and Kristen Sinclair (2005).

Barnes entered the meet seeded 18th and was five centimeters away from earning a spot in the finals with a throw of 40.94m. This is the first All-American honor for Barnes, who placed 17th in the discus at last year's National Championship. She joins two-time honoree Christine Berube as the only women in program history to earn All-American honors in the discus. Berube was an All-American in 1993 and 1994.
