GENEVA, Ohio – Junior
Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) and senior
Zoe Barnes each earned All-American honors on Thursday afternoon 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Reitchel placed fourth in the javelin to earn First Team All-American status. Barnes earned Second Team All-American honors by placing 10th in the discus.
Â
Reitchel recorded a throw of 41.23m to place fourth. The distance came on her second throw of the day. Reitchel, who placed 22nd at the 2023 National Championship meet as a freshman, is the fourth athlete in program history to earn All-American honors in the javelin. She joins 2021 NCAA Division III champion Sophia Slovenski, Bethany Dumas (2012), and Kristen Sinclair (2005).
Â
Barnes entered the meet seeded 18th and was five centimeters away from earning a spot in the finals with a throw of 40.94m. This is the first All-American honor for Barnes, who placed 17th in the discus at last year's National Championship. She joins two-time honoree Christine Berube as the only women in program history to earn All-American honors in the discus. Berube was an All-American in 1993 and 1994.
