GORHAM, Maine – Senior Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's track & field team has been named the Little East Conference Field Athlete of the Week following a standout performance at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Invitational.
 
Reitchel placed second in the javelin on Friday with a throw of 38.26m. Her distance ranks 31st nationally and fourth in the East region. Reitchel earned First Team All-American honors in the event last season by placing fourth at the National Championships with a throw of 41.32m.
 
In addition to her performance in the javelin, Reitchel ran on a 4x100 relay team that placed fifth in their event with a time of 49.46 seconds.
 
The next meet for the Huskies will be the Jim Boulanger Invitational hosted by the University of New Hampshire on Saturday, April 4. The first events start at 11:00 am.
