Sydnee Chaisson Dubbed Little East Conference Player of the Week

GORHAM, Maine – Senior Sydnee Chaisson (Stratford, Prince Edward Island/Mount Academy) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's ice hockey team has earned the first conference weekly award of her career as the forward has been named the Little East Conference Player of the Week. Chaisson scored both Southern Maine goals in a 3-2 loss to the No. 13 Colby College Mules last Tuesday.

Chaisson's first tally put the Huskies within a goal at 2-1 in the second period. She then added a second goal, this time on the power play, to make the score 3-2 with 2:42 left in regulation. Her three goals and two power play goals this season are the most on the team.

Chaisson has played in 83 games in her career and has seven goals and nine assists. She has already set a new career-high for goals in a season with her three scores through the first eight games.

The Huskies will return to action on Friday, December 5 with a 7:30 pm road game at Keene State.
