How It Happened:
- Jones made six saves in the opening period as the Huskies outshot the Wildcats 7-6. The Huskies' defense helped out their goalie by blocking eight shots in the period. Jackson and sophomore Greta Grant (Brownfield, Maine/Fryeburg Academy) each blocked two shots.
- The second period was also a scoreless affair with neither side able to break through. The Huskies controlled the flow of the action by outshooting the Wildcats 10-3 in the period, but Cardoso kept the game scoreless.
- The Wildcats struck first 7:17 into the period with Alexia Labre cleaning up the rebound of a shot by Ashley Bergeron. However, the Huskies responded by tying the game with a shorthanded goal by Jackson after Chagnon found her with a pass to set up a breakaway. Neither team scored the rest of the way, and the teams went to overtime knotted up one goal apiece.
- Chagnon's game-winner came after her initial shot was saved but she was able to control the rebound and fire it into the open net to give the Huskies the win.

Â
Inside The Stats:
- Southern Maine led 28-17 in shots on goals, while the faceoff wins favored the Wildcats 27-18. Jackson led the Huskies with eight faceoff wins.
