GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's golf team has been named the Little East Conference Player of the Week. This is the first Player of the Week award of his career. He earned the Rookie of the Week award once last season as a freshman.
 
Poirier tied for first on Sunday at the USM Husky Classic with a three-under par 69 for his second medalist honor of the season. He had a fantastic round with seven birdies and eight pars.
 
The Huskies will be looking to defend their conference title at the LEC Men's Golf Championship on Thursday and Friday at Redding Country Club in Redding, Conn. Poirier placed second at last season's event to earn First Team All-LEC honors.
