BRUNSWICK, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's golf team tied for 11th place at the Bowdoin Invitational at Brunswick Golf Club following the second round of the event on Sunday. Alex Fournier (Augusta, Maine/Cony) had the best round for the Huskies with a 74 (+2) to finish the event in a tie for 29th with a two-day total of 153 (+9). Junior
Finn Sharpe (Durham, Maine/Freeport) was the highest placing Husky with a 150 (+6) to tie for 17th.
Amherst College and Williams College each carded a 593 (+17) to tie for first. Derek Johnson from Western New England University and Myles O'Quinn from Endicott College tied for first individually with each player shooting a142 (-2).
On the Course:
- Sophomore Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) had a strong second round with a 75 (+3) and finished in a tie for 46th with a 156 (+12).
- Freshman Keenan Buteau (Scarborough, Maine) tied for 69th with a 161 (+17).
- Sophomore Alex Grant (St. Albans, Maine/Nokomis Regional) tied for 74th with a 162 (+18).
- Sophomore Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) tied for 165 (+21) while competing as an individual.
- Poirier and Buteau each had three birdies.
