HOPKINTON, N.H. – Junior captain Gwen Catalano (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) was the top runner for the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's cross country team on Friday afternoon at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H. Catalano placed 74th in the 5k with a personal-best time of 19:12.22. The Huskies placed 21st in the team standings out of 25 scoring programs and placed fourth among the NCAA Division III teams in attendance.
 
Providence College won the meet and had the top overall runner in Niamh O'Mahony. Bowdoin College was the top performing NCAA Division III team and finished ninth.
 
On the Course:

• Senior Lucy Depolito (North Andover, Mass.) ran a time of 20:26.65 to place 176th.
• Junior Julia Szewc (Hermon, Maine) placed 211th with a personal-best time of 21:03.31.
• Senior Alexis Karantza (Westbrook, Maine) placed 228th with a time of 21:27.87.
• Freshman Rohen Brown (Auburn, Maine/Saint Dominic Academy) finished 239th with a time of 21:57.18.
• Senior Whitney Davenport (Westbrook, Maine) ran a time of 22:08.44 to place 243rd.
• Junior Elise Schultz (Windham, Maine) placed 248th with a time of 22:16.02.
