GORHAM, Maine – Senior Vincent Anderson (Anchorage, AK/AJ Dimond), junior Asa Farley (Gorham, Maine) and sophomore Jack Brady (Jensen Beach, Fla./Jensen Beach) have been named captains of the 2024 University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's soccer team.
 
Picked to finish sixth in the 2024 Little East Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Huskies kick off their season on the road at Husson University on Friday, August 30 (6:30 pm). The Huskies finished the 2023 season with a record of 4-10-5 and 2-4-2 in the Little East, qualifying for the LEC Championship Tournament for the first time since 2018. 
 
An Athletic Training major, Farley is a 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team selection. A mainstay in the Huskies' defense, Farley played and started in all 19 games last season, and put in full 90s in 15 contests. Farley's consistency in the back helped Southern Maine to four shutouts, including a 0-0 draw against VTSU-Castleton in the final regular season contest of the season to earn a spot in the playoffs.
 
Returning after an outstanding rookie campaign in the Huskies' midfield, Brady was twice named the LEC Rookie of the Week in 2023. Brady led USM with 11 points on three goals and five assists – his five assists were tops on the team. Brady's fifth and final assist of the season secured a 1-1 draw on the road at WestConn, snapping a 10-game skid to the Wolves.  Brady is undeclared in his course of study.
 
Now a two-year captain and backline anchor, Anderson has filled the role of center back for the Huskies the last two seasons. Playing and starting in 18 games in 2023, Anderson logged 1562 minutes including 13 full-90 shifts. An experience player, Anderson has played and started in 35 career games – leading USM to 14 shutouts.   Earning College Sports Communicators  Academic All-District honors, Anderson is a Sports Management major.
