BANGOR, Maine - After 90 minutes of action the University of Southern Maine Huskies and the Husson University Eagles settled for a scoreless draw in a non-conference men's soccer season opener Tuesday night at John P. Boucher Field.
Both teams registered three shots on goal in the game, but both keepers were ready for the save. Husky first year goalie
Owen Burns (Bowmanville, Ontario/St. Stephen Catholic) earned the shutout in his first intercollegiate start.

Today marked the 5th meeting in program history between Southern Maine and Husson. Six of the last seven contests between the two programs have ended in a 1-1 draw. USM leads the overall series 22-18-9, including tonight's result.
How It Happened:
- Southern Maine put four shots towards goal in the opening half, leading the Eagles 4-2 in shots. Senior Jonah Naratil (Porter, Maine/Sacopee Valley) put the Huskies first shot on target, but Husson's Liam Mason made the stop. Cesar Soucre followed for the Eagles with a shot on target of his own, but Burns made his first save of the day.
- Senior Exauce Lenge (Portland, Maine) turned one on frame in the 65th minute as Mason made the save. The Huskies struck for two more shots on the rebound, but both were off frame.
- Burns made a key save in the 87th on an attempt from Jorge Mora keeping the game at 0-0 as time wound down on regulation.
