 GORHAM, Maine  - Michael Porter scored a go-ahead goal in the 38^th minute and James Von Dyl sealed the win in the 82^nd minute to lead the United States Coast Guard Academy Bears to a 3-1 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference men's soccer game Friday night at Hannaford Field.

Today's game marks the seventh meeting between the United States Coast Guard Academy and the Huskies, and the first meeting since the 2016 season. USCGA leads the series 6-0-1
 
How It Happened:

• The Bears got on the board early with a goal off of the foot of Cole Miller in the second minute.  Miller hit a one-time shot to the far-post off of a corner kick service from Andres Villasana for the lead.
• Southern Maine tied the game up in the 22^nd minute.  After senior Cole Johnson (Orange, Mass.) was brought down in the box, the Huskies were awarded a penalty.  Junior Alex Graver (Freport, Maine) had his attempt stopped by USCGA keeper Sam Linkous, but Graver was able to follow up on the deflection and head the ball home for his first goal of 2026.
• Porter made it 2-1 before the half rocketing in a far-post goal off of a direct kick from outside the box. The Bears sealed the win in the 82^nd minute as Von Dyle knocked one in for the 3-1 final.
