EASTON, Mass. – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's track & field team placed 12th over the weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships at Stonehill College. The Huskies ended the first day of the competition with 11 points and added another 13 points on Saturday. Senior
Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) was the highest placing Husky with a second-place finish in the javelin on Friday with a throw of 39.91m to earn nine points for the Huskies.

Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) scored eight points for Southern Maine by placing fifth in both the shot put (12.86m) and discus (42.05m) on Saturday.

On the track, senior
Alexis Karantza (Westbrook, Maine) ran a personal-best time of 1:04.70 to place seventh in the 400-meter hurdles to earn two points for the Huskies. Freshmen
Emma O'Brien (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest) and
Sienna Geretz (Cushing, Maine/Oceanside) scored points for the Huskies in the track events thanks to their performances on Friday. O'Brien placed seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 3.15m, and Geretz finished eighth in the javelin with a throw of 32.32m.

Florence Guimont (Boisbriand, Quebec/Laval Senior) finished 13th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:08.98. Sophomore
Saya Breiting-Brown (Portland, Maine/Deering) placed 11th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.63 seconds. Junior
Julia Szewc (Hermon, Maine) placed 13th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 42:03.02 on Friday. Freshman
Madi Sainis (Pierrefords, Quebec) finished 20th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.19.
