Three Members of Women’s Track & Field Program Compete at Last Chance Meets

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Alexis Karantza (Westbrook, Maine) and freshman Madi Sainis (Pierrefords, Quebec) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's track & field team competed at the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday. Karantza placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.53. Sainis finished 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:19.16.
 
Senior Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) also competed for the Huskies on Wednesday evening at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier and placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 38.00m.
 
The performance list for the 2026 NCAA Division III 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Track & Field National Championships For each women's individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams will be accepted into the competition.
 
Reitchel currently ranks 19th in the javelin with a throw of 42.09m as results from the final day of qualifying continue to come in from across the country.
