SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior
Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's track & field finished second in the shot put on Saturday at the Division III New England Championships with a throw of 12.80m. Boudreau earned the Huskies eight points in the team standings with her performance. The Huskies tied for 14th with 20 total points.

Alexis Karantza (Westbrook, Maine) placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.08 to earn four points for the Huskies. The Southern Maine 4x400 relay team of freshman

Addy Burkhardt (Lisbon Falls, Maine/Lisbon), freshman
Madi Sainis (Pierrefords, Quebec) and Karantza placed seventh with a season-best time of 4:06.48 to earn the Huskies two more points.

Burkhardt and Sainis also competed in individual events in addition to running the 4x400 team. Burkhardt placed ninth in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 59.32 seconds and now ranks seventh in program history. She finished second in her heat. Sainis placed 14th in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:55.01.

Florence Guimont (Boisbriand, Quebec/Laval Senior) placed 12th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:11.97. Sophomore
Saya Breiting-Brown (Portland, Maine/Deering) finished 26th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.60.

The next meet for the Huskies will be the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships on May 8-9 at Stonehill College.
