SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior
Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's track & field placed fourth in the javelin on Friday with a throw of 38.96m on the first day of the Division III New England Championships. Her placement earned the Huskies five points in the team standings, and they are currently tied for 12th with six points. Freshman
Emma O'Brien (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest) also earned a point for the Huskies by placing eighth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.15m.

Junior
Kiana Goldberg (Sabattus, Maine/Lisbon) led a group of four track athletes for the Huskies by placing ninth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.08 seconds. Sophomore
Saya Breiting-Brown (Portland, Maine/Deering) also competed in the event and placed 15th with a personal-best time of 15.43 seconds. Senior
Lucy Depolito (North Andover, Mass.) placed 17th in the 10000 meters with a time of 42:08.12. Junior
Gwen Catalano (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) ran a time of 18:48.95 to place 15th in the 5000 meters.

Sienna Geretz (Cushing, Maine/Oceanside) also competed in the javelin and placed 15th with a throw of 32.68m.
