GORHAM, Maine – Senior
Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies baseball team has been named the Maine College Baseball & Softball Association (MCBSA) Player of the Week. Earning the first weekly honor of his 2026 season, Douin is the third Husky to earn weekly recognition from the organization joining pitchers
Colin McDonald and
Hayden Strout.
Douin hit safely in all four of Southern Maine's games last week, batting .438 (7-for-16) with four runs scored, seven RBI, three walks, a double, and a home run. He posted a .550 on-base percentage and a .688 slugging percentage during the week. Douin went 1-for-3 with an RBI in a 5-4 win at Bowdoin and then starred in a Little East doubleheader sweep of Rhode Island College, going a combined 5-for-9 with four runs scored and six RBI. He drove in three runs in an 11-1 victory in game one and followed with a 3-for-5 e ort in game two, highlighted by a double and a solo homer.
A 2025 MCBSA All-State selection a year ago, Douin leads Southern Maine hitting .389 (21-for-54) with three doubles, a triple, three home runs and 15 RBI. The Huskies' infielder has a .648 slugging percentage and a .522 on-base percentage. Defensively, Douin has a perfect mark with 83 putouts and three assists. Through 13 games played this season, Douin is a career .356 hitter with 153 RBI.
Southern Maine hosts UMaine Farmington on Thursday (3:30 pm) in non-conference action. The Huskies return to LEC play at WestConn on Saturday, April 4 (12:00 pm) for an LEC doubleheader.
