Game One Recap – Southern Maine 11, Rhode Island College 1
- After giving an RBI single in the top of the first, McDonald kept the RIC bats silent until the top of the sixth in a strong performance on the mound. McDonald allowed just the two singles and four walks in the win to improve to 4-0.
- Down 1-0 after the top of the first, the Huskies tied the game quickly as Baschnagel led off with a double and scored on an RBI single from Douin. With McDonald keeping RIC off the scoreboard through the third, Southern Maine snagged a 6-1 lead with a five-run bottom of the inning. Junior Quinn Dillon (Gorham, Maine) highlighted the inning with a three-run double.
- Southern Maine led 8-1 after the fifth as the Huskies scored two more runs on two hits, a walk and a RIC fielding error. Baschnagel had an RBI single in the inning.
- After a scoreless sixth from both sides, sophomore Sam Calder (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) entered in relief of McDonald in the top of the seventh. Calder worked a strong inning getting an infield fly to third and back-to-back strikeouts to send the game to the bottom of the seventh with an 8-1 USM lead. In the bottom of the seventh, the Huskies rapped out four consecutive singles and scored three runs to invoke the 10-run rule for the 11-1 win. Senior Dylan Firmin (Stratham, NH/Exeter), Brisette, and Baschnagel each singled to load the bases before Douin picked up two RBI with a single through the right side. Junior Peter Keblinsky (Ellsworth, Maine) made it 11-1 with an RBI ground out.
Game Two Recap – Southern Maine 23, Rhode Island College 1 (7 inn)
- Southern Maine pounded out 21 hits in game two of the doubleheader and 12 of the 13 individual hitters that stepped to the plate collected at least one hit in the lopsided win. Six of the Huskies' 21 hits in the game were for extra bases.
- The Huskies led big early scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first. Brissette highlighted the inning with a two-run single as USM used three hits, four walks, and two hit-by-pitch, to put up the crooked number.
- Southern Maine made it 8-0 in the second on a sacrifice fly RBI from senior Chris Quigley (Halifax, Mass.) before blowing the game open with 12 runs in the bottom of the third to lead 20-0.
- Batting through the order twice in the inning, the Huskies had nine hits. Douin had an RBI double to start the scoring and drove in the 19th run of the game with a solo home run. Baschnagel's team-leading sixth home run of the season, and second "grand slam" of the season, was also part of the blowout inning for USM. Sophomore Drew Scialdone (Amesbury, Mass.) had a two-run single as part of the highlight.
- Both teams were quiet through the fifth inning, and Black locked up the win working around a potential jam in the fifth with runners on first and second with one out following a single from Brady Zadora inducing an inning-ending double-play.
- Freshmen Dylan Annicelli (East Providence, RI) and Alessandro Parisi (Charlestown, Mass./Boston College HS) combined to retire RIC in order in the top of the sixth. Annicelli recorded the first two outs with a fly out and a strikeout before Parisi ended it with a ground out.
- In the bottom of the sixth, USM made it 23-0 scoring three runs on five hits. Brisette had an RBI double down the left field line, while freshman James Main (North Stonington, Conn./Wheeler) made his first career intercollegiate hit a remarkable one with an RBI single down the left field line. Freshman Josh Polchies (Gorham, Maine) drove in the final Husky run of the game with an RBI single up the middle.
- RIC broke up the shutout in the seventh with a solo home run from Jace Wolfradt, but Husky reliever freshman Isaac Jensen (Arundel, Maine/Kennebunk) responded with two strikeouts and a ground out to end the inning, and the game.
