GORHAM, Maine – For the fourth time this season, fifth-year senior Zoe Barnes (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's track & field team has been named Little East Conference Field Athlete of the Week. Barnes set two program records at the Maine State Meet in addition to winning two event titles and the meet's Lynn Ruddy Women's Field Most Valuable Performer award.
 
Barnes had a throw of 13.80m in the shot put to break her own program record of 13.79m set on January 10. She also surpassed Hannah Patterson's program record of 16.49m in the weight throw with a toss of 16.98m. Barnes is now tied for ninth in NCAA Division III this season in the shot put and ranks 12th in the weight throw. Both marks lead the East region.

The Huskies are off this weekend and will return to action on Saturday, February 21 at the Little East Conference Championships at Plymouth State. Southern Maine will be attempting to extend their indoor conference title streak to six in a row.
