GORHAM, Maine – Fifth-year senior
Zoe Barnes (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) took home event titles in both the shot put and weight throw on Saturday as the University of Southern Maine women's track & field program placed first at the Husky Invitational. Barnes had a throw of 13.75m in the shot put and set a personal-best in the weight throw at 16.37m, the second-best throw in program history.

Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) cleared 3.35m to win the pole vault and join Barnes as a field event winner. The Huskies also won four track events.

Lucy Depolito (North Andover, Mass.) won the 3000 meters with a personal-best time of 11:12.48. Sophomore
Saya Breiting-Brown (Portland, Maine/Deering) won the 55-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.83 seconds.

Khalysa Hammith (Windham, Maine) ran a personal-best time of 7.34 seconds to place third in the finals of the 55-meter dash. Her time is tied for second in program history. She also ran a time of 7.49 seconds in the prelims.
Track Event Highlights:
- Limberger, Davenport, Przybilla and senior Anabel Melanson (West Warren, Mass./Quaboag) placed third through sixth in the 800 meters with times of 2:28.86, 2:32.36, 2:32.51 and 2:32.78.
- Freshman Florence Guimont (Boisbriand, Quebec/Laval Senior) placed third in the 3000 meters with a time of 11:27.45. Junior Julia Szewc (Hermon, Maine) placed fifth at 11:59.42 and freshman Tanuja Khedkar (Bridgewater, Nova Scotia) ran a time of 13:14.79 to place seventh.
- Freshman Addy Thibodeau (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed fourth in the mile with a time of 5:53.43.
- Sophomore Mya Austin (Sumner, Maine/Buckfield) placed sixth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.62 seconds and finished seventh in the 200 meters at 27.38 seconds.
- Senior Alexis Karantza (Westbrook, Maine) placed ninth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.71 seconds.
- Junior Allie Kimball (Winslow, Maine) placed 11th in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.83 seconds and 12th in the 200 meters with a time of 28.35.
Field Event Highlights:
- Freshman Emma O'Brien (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest) cleared a personal-best 3.25m to place second in the pole vault.
- Senior Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) placed second in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 13.21m. She joins Barnes as the only athletes in program history with a mark greater than 13 meters.
- Hammith finished second in the long jump at 5.37m.
- Freshman Ava Gerrity (Windham, Maine) placed fourth in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 10.55m. She also placed 11th in the long jump at 4.74m.
- Freshman Biel Deng (Lewiston, Maine) tied for fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.40m, a new personal-best.
- Junior Wynter Simack (South Royalton, Vt./White River Valley) placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 1.95m.
- Freshman Ashley Arsenault (Winthrop, Maine) placed eighth in the high jump at 1.40m.
- Senior Lizzie Asman (Marlborough, Mass./Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter) placed ninth in the weight throw at 11.72m.

The Huskies will compete at the Maine State Meet next Saturday at Bates College in their final tune-up before the Little East Conference Championships.
