GORHAM, Maine- Senior
Jake Craig (Norridgewock, Maine/Skowhegan) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies wrestling team remains nationally-ranked at 133 lbs. Moving up to fourth in the nation in the OpenMat Wrestling and National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) Division III poll, Craig remains steady at fifth in Intermat Wrestling poll.
A two-time NCAA Division III All-American (2023, 2025), Craig has put together an outstanding senior campaign so far and has a record of 25-2 overall. Dominant in his 25 wins, seventeen of Craig's wins are for extra points: seven wins by technical fall, six wins by fall, and four wins by major decision.
Recently collecting his 100
th career win on January 10 at the Manganaro Duals in Collegeville, Pa., Craig is a remarkable 109-22 in his Husky career. One of eight University of Southern Maine wrestlers to reach the 100-win milestone, Craig's 109 wins are seventh all-time in program history and one off of the number six spot of 110 held by former Husky standout Brendan Weir '16.
Craig and fellow Huskies' Kyle and
Shane Moore (Kennebunk, Maine/Division Avenue) are all ranked in-region for the Huskies. Craig and
Kyle Moore are ranked second in the most recent New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) individual polls at 133 lbs and 141 lbs, respectively, while
Shane Moore is eighth at 149 lbs. Craig is listed as the top-ranked wrestler at 133 lbs in the NWCA regional poll, while Kyle and Shane hold the same rank respectively.
Riding a seven-match win-streak,
Kyle Moore is 15-3 overall, and has earned five extra-point victories in his last seven competitions. A 2025 All-Region wrestler, Moore placed fourth in the Northeast Region qualifier as a sophomore.
Shane Moore is currently 18-6 overall in his sophomore campaign and has won his last four matches consecutively. Seven of his 18 wins have come by fall, and he has eight extra-point wins overall.
Craig and the rest of the Southern Maine squad are back in action on Saturday (12:00 pm) at the USM Quad Meet. Southern Maine will host Plymouth State, Trinity and Western New England.
