GORHAM, Maine – Freshman Ben Aucoin (Moncton, New Brunswick) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's ice hockey team has been chosen as the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week after back-to-back multiple-point games during a weekend sweep of UMass Dartmouth and UMass Boston. This is his second LEC Rookie of the Week award of the season.
 
Aucoin recorded five total points over the weekend on two goals and three assists. On Friday, he scored a goal and dished out two assists in an 8-5 win over UMass Dartmouth. He then added a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over UMass Boston. His 16 goals and 24 points lead the team, and he is tied for fourth in the conference in goals.
 
The Huskies close out the regular season this weekend with away games at Plymouth State and New England College.
