BRUNSWICK, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's cross country team placed fifth on Saturday at the Maine State on Saturday at Bowdoin College. Junior captain
Gwen Catalano (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) ran the 6k course in 23:26.50 to place 29th. Senior
AnnMarie Limberger (Vassalboro, Maine/Waterville) also finished in the top 50 with a time of 24:20.38 to place 47th.
The meet was won by Bowdoin College with UMaine placing second and Bates coming in third. Lila Garbett was the event champion with a time of 21:42.09 followed by Bates' Leah White with a time of 21:47.21.
On the Course:
- Senior Lucy Depolito (North Andover, Mass.) finished 53rd with a time of 24:40.14.
- Junior Julia Szewc (Hermon, Maine) placed 56th with a time of 24:57.39.
- Freshman Rohen Brown (Auburn, Maine/Saint Dominic Academy) clocked in at 25:24.68 to place 61st.
- Junior Elise Schultz (Windham, Maine) and senior Whitney Davenport (Westbrook, Maine) placed 71st and 72nd with times of 26:09.55 and 26:10.22.
- Freshman Addie Beale (South Berwick, Maine/Marshwood) ran the course in 26:18.75 to place 75th.
- Freshman Aeryn Babson (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed 78th with a time of 26:46.72.
- Freshman Tanuja Khedkar (Bridgewater, Nova Scotia) placed 86th with a time of 27:29.48.
