GORHAM, Maine – The Little East Conference announced the results of its annual preseason coaches' poll for women's tennis on Thursday morning with the University of Southern Maine placing ninth with 12 points. UMass Boston edged out Rhode Island College by three points 62-59 for the top spot with twice as many first-place votes at six to three. UMass Dartmouth placed third with 47 points.

Abby Emerson (Gorham, Maine), a 2023 Second Team All-LEC singles performer, is returning for the Huskies and expected She went 7-3 record in singles matches as a sophomore in 2023 with a 4-3 record in the No. 1 slot. Emerson also went 5-5 in doubles play.

Muriel Lattin (Litchfield, Maine/ Winthrop) and sophomore
Katherine Dallaire (Biddeford, Maine) each gained valuable experience at the top of the lineup last season for the Huskies and will be looking to be solid competitors for the team in 2025.

Eric Haase '94, the Huskies will open the season with a home match against the University of Maine at Augusta at 4:00 pm on September 4. The Huskies will play all their home matches at the recently renovated courts at Gorham High School this season. The move marks a return to Gorham High after two seasons of playing the majority of their home matches at the Waynflete Complex in Portland.
