GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore
Alyssa Conley (Windham, Maine) and senior
Abby Emerson (Gorham, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' Women's Tennis team have each earned All-Little East Conference honors for the 2025 season. Each player was recognized for both her singles performance and their success as a doubles pair. Emerson earned first team honors for singles while Conley was a second team selection. The duo earned first team doubles honors as well. Freshman
Payton Thibodeau (Gorham, Maine) was also honored as the Southern Maine representative on the LEC Sportsmanship Team.
Â
Emerson went 4-3 at No. 1 singles after missing the first few weeks of the season due to an injury. Two of her losses came against UMass Boston's Zainab Patel, the now three-time LEC Singles Player of the Year. This is the second all-conference selection for Emerson. She previously earned Second Team All-LEC honors for singles in 2023 after posting a 7-3 record.
Â
Conley finished the season with a record of 9-3 and went 7-1 in conference action. Her time was split between No. 1 singles, where she went 4-2 to start the season with a 2-0 record in conference play, and No. 2 singles, where she posted a 5-1 record. One of her singles wins in the top lineup slot was a 7-5, 6-1 win over a fellow Second Team All-LEC selection in UMass Dartmouth's Zuri Walters. Her only conference loss on the year was a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Rhode Island College's Haley Peacock, a First Team All-LEC singles selection.
Â
In doubles play, the pair went 7-1 overall and 6-1 in conference matches. Their only loss was a 6-3 defeat at the hands of RIC's Erica Botelho Haylie Peacock, the LEC Doubles Team of the Year. The pair is the first doubles team for Southern Maine to earn all-conference honors since the first doubles pair of Emily Boutin and Mary Moran earned first team honors in 2012.
Â
Thibodeau finished her freshman campaign with a 6-2 singles record and went 6-4 in doubles action. She went 5-1 in the second singles slot and then went 1-1 at third singles. Thibodeau began the season playing with Conley in the top doubles slot and the pair went 3-1.
Â
The Huskies finished the season with a record of 4-9 and reached the LEC Tournament for the first time since 2018.
