GORHAM, Maine – Senior
Duncan Hayes (Augusta, Maine/Cony) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's lacrosse program has been named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic team. Nominees must have a senior or graduate student standing with no eligibility remaining or plans to use their eligibility in New England, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be an impact player for their team.

Hayes, a Marketing major and two-time team captain, started all 16 games for the Huskies and led the team in caused turnovers with 22 while also recording 24 ground balls. He played in 64 career games with 42 starts and recorded 91 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers. Hayes was recently named to the Little East Conference All-Academic Team for the first time in his career and is a two-time William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete.

In total, 226 Division III players representing 39 different institutions made an appearance on this year's squad. Hayes is one of 25 LEC student-athletes to be honored.
