MANCHESTER, N.H. – The University of Southern Maine men's golf team carded 307 (+27) on Sunday to tie for first at the New England College Spring Invitational at Derryfield Country Club in Manchester. The Huskies tied with the hosts for the top spot on the five-team leaderboard. Freshman
Alex Grant (St. Albans, Maine/Nokomis Regional) had the best round for the Huskies with a 74 (+4) to tie for second place. Freshman
Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) was two strokes behind him at 76 (+6) and tied for fourth. Endicott College's Tyler Baker shot two-over-par 72 to win the event.

Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) tied for 10th with a 78 (+8). Freshman
Alex Fournier (Augusta, Maine/Cony) placed 14th after shooting a 79 (+9). Junior
Sam Farr (Gorham, Maine) fired an 84 (+14) to tie for 21st.

Moore led the Huskies in birdies with four while Poirier had three, Grant had two and Farr recorded one.

The Huskies will host Husson University for a match on Sunday, May 4 at Riverside Golf Course in Portland. The event tees off at 1:00 pm.
