Moore Ties for First at NEC Spring Invitational

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Sophomore Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) shot par-70 to tie for the lowest round on Sunday at the New England College Spring Invitational at Derryfield Country Club. Moore recorded five birdies on the day. The University of Southern Maine men's golf team carded a 305 (+25) to tie for the best team score. NEC took first by winning the tiebreaker with a fifth score of 83Suffolk earned second place with a fifth score of 92. USM placed third with no fifth score as sophomore Alex Fournier (Augusta, Maine/Cony) had to withdraw due to injury.
 
Sophomore Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) tied for fourth with a 73 (+3). He had four birdies with three of them coming on the back nine. Sophomore Alex Grant (St. Albans, Maine/Nokomis Regional) shot a 79 (+9) with a birdie on the 10th hole to tie for 10th.
 
Freshman Keenan Buteau (Scarborough, Maine) had two birdies and tied for 19th with an 83 (+13). Sophomore Carter O'Connell (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) competed as an individual and placed 21st with an 84 (+14).
 
The Huskies will wrap up the 2026 season at the 2026 NCAA Division III National Championship on May 12-15, 2026 at Mission Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
