Zoe Barnes (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) of the University of Southern Maine women's track & field team placed second in the shot put on Saturday at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships with a throw of 12.81m. Her distance is the seventh best in program history. Junior
Alexis Karantza (Westbrook, Maine) placed sixth in the finals of the 500 meters with a time of 1:18.01. Her time is the second best in program history behind the record of 1:17.42 that she set yesterday. The Huskies placed 10th in the team standings.

Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) competed in the pole vault at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet and cleared 3.38m to place 10th.

Today's events conclude the regular season for the Huskies. The qualifiers for the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be announced tomorrow evening with the top 20 athletes in each event earning a spot. Freshman
Khalysa Hammith (Windham, Maine) currently ranks 11th in the long jump with a mark of 5.79m, a program record. The National Championships will be held from March 14-15 at Golisano Training Center at Nazareth University in Rochester, N.Y. The long jump is scheduled for noon on Friday, March 14.
