ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Freshman
Khalysa Hammith (Windham, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine women's track & field team placed 18th in the long jump on Friday at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Rochester, N.Y. Hammith's mark of 5.37m was second among the three freshmen competitors.
The mark came on her first attempt and put her in fifth place after the first round for her flight. She then fouled on her next attempt and leapt 5.09m in her final jump of the round to finish eighth in her flight.
First Team All-America status is awarded to finishers 1-8 (individual events and relays) in each event at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships Second Team All-America status is awarded to finishers 9-16 (individual events) and 9-10 (relays) in each event at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. Preliminary round placings are used for classification for events in which fewer than 16 participate in the final round. Athletes and relays must have a valid mark in at least one round to earn All-America status.
Hammith concludes her first collegiate indoor track & field season as the program record holder in the indoor long jump at 5.79m. She also was named the 2025 Little East Conference Field Rookie of the Year and won the conference long jump title. The freshman also earned All-New England honors by placing in the top eight at the 2025 NCAA Division III New England Championships and was a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region performer.
