PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The University of Southern Maine men's track & field program won its 16th Little East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday at the Providence Career and Technical School. The Huskies racked up 149 points and won eight events at the competition.

Freshman
Joey Richards (Winslow, Maine) led the way with conference titles in the 200 meters and the 400 meters. He ran the 200 in 22.18 seconds and the 400 49.38 seconds and both times rank in the top 10 in program history. Graduate student
Ethan Shain (Sanford, Maine) and sophomore
Cyrus Evans (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue) also won track events for the Huskies. Shain won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.87 seconds that is tied for the third-fastest in program history. Evans finished first in the 600 meters with a personal-best time of 1:23.58. Ricahrds also teamed up with junior
Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H), senior
Albert Matrille (North Waterboro, Maine/Alvirne) and freshman
Logan Berube (Turner, Maine/Leavitt Area) to take the gold in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:25.76.

Michael D'Amico (Belgrade Lakes, Maine/Messalonskee), senior
Jacob Jackson (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) and graduate student
William Carrolton (Bath, Maine/Morse) also claimed field event titles. D'Amico won his first conference title in the pole vault by clearing 4.30m on his first attempt. Jackson set a personal best in the triple jump at 13.57m to narrowly edge out the mark of 13.56m by senior
Treshaun Brown (Kittery, Maine) for the event title. Carrolton broke his own program record in the shot put with a heave of 15.42m.

Christian Burke (York, Maine) and Cahill each earned Second Team All-LEC status as runner ups in an event. Burke placed second in the pole vault at 4.30m/Â Cahill finished second to Richards in the 400 meters with a time of 50.25 seconds.

Track Event Highlights:
- D'Amico finished third in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.79 seconds. He ran the prelims in 8.94 seconds and had the fourth-best time.
- Pecoraro ran a time of 2:37.27 in the 1000 meters to place third.
- The 4x200 relay team ran a time of 1:33.93.
- Cyr ran the 3000 meters in 9:00.68.
- Freshman Marcus Tillery (Windham, Maine) placed fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 23.02 seconds.
- The 4x800 team of Pecoraro, freshman Preston Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester), senior Jordan Duplessie (Caribou, Maine) and Cyrus Evans placed fourth with a time of 8:17.18.
- Gerry finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.14, a new personal best.
- Duplessie also scored points for the Huskies by placing sixth in the 5000 meters at 15:59.35.

- Brown placed fourth in the long jump at 6.76m.
- Burke placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.94m.
- Jackson also tied for fifth in the high jump at 1.90m and finished sixth in the long jump at 6.40m.
- Junior Jon Dalessandro (Westbrook, Maine) placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.85m.
- Carrolton also competed in the weight throw and placed eight with a toss of 14.11m. His mark is a new personal best.
