GORHAM, Maine – Freshman Loic Morin (Drummondville, Quebec) of the Southern Maine Huskies' men's ice hockey team has become the second Husky in as many weeks to be named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week. He joins freshman Ben Aucoin (Moncton, New Brunswick), last week's LEC Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, as recipients of the award.
 
Morin led the Huskies to a pair of conference wins this weekend with a total of 50 saves on 53 shots on goal. He made 33 saves on Saturday in a 3-0 win over Keene State for the first shutout of his career. He also had 17 saves in a 7-3 win over Western Connecticut State on Friday evening.
 
The Huskies have won their last three games and will be looking to extend the streak this weekend with a two-game homestead. The team will host Vermont State University Castleton on Friday at 7:00 pm and then face Norwich University on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
