Women’s Golf Competes in First Round of Polar Bear Shootout

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's golf team ended the first round of the Bowdoin College Polar Bear Shootout in 14th place with a 400 (+108). Senior Remy Levin (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) had the best round for the Huskies with a 91 (+18) and is tied for 70th.
 
Williams College leads the event with a 285 (-7) led by Natalie Cheong's 67 (-6).
 
On the Course:
  • Junior Emma Skolfield (Lisbon, Maine) also broke 100 in the first round and is tied for 80th after shooting a 96 (+23).
  • Sophomore Ryley Meyer (North Sioux City, S.D./Dakota Valley) shot a 101 (+28) and is in 83rd.
  • Junior Belle Steeves (South Paris, Maine/Oxford Hills) is tied for 84th with a 112 (+39).
  • Junior Mary Kate Heffernan (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland) is in 86th place after shooting a 134 (+61).

The second round of the event starts tomorrow morning at 9:00 am.
