GORHAM, Maine – Senior
Remy Levin (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) fired an 85 (+14) on the first day of the inaugural Little East Conference Women's Golf Championship to end the round in second place on the individual leaderboard. The University of Southern Maine Huskies carded a 380 (+92) and are in third place behind Husson University (364, +76) and Keene State (370, +82). The event is being hosted by Rhode Island College at Valley Country Club in Warwick, R.I.

Levin shot par on six holes and ended her day with a birdie on the 18th hole. She sits two strokes behind Husson's Caitlyn Chabot on the individual leaderboard. She will look to challenge Chabot and the rest of the field in tomorrow's round.

Senior
Mackenzie Kingsbury (Woodsville, N.H.) and junior
Belle Steeves (South Paris, Maine/Oxford Hills) also ended the first round in the top 10. Kingsbury shot a 95 (+23) and birdied the sixth hole. Today's round was her lowest of the season and the second lowest of her career. Steeves broke 100 for the fourth time this season with a 98 (+26) and is in 10th place. The top 10 golfers after tomorrow's round will earn All-LEC honors with first team honors going to the top five and second team honors awarded to the sixth through 10th place performers.

Sophomore
Ryley Meyer (North Sioux City, S.D./Dakota Valley) shot a 102 (+30) and is in 15th.

The second round of the championship will start tomorrow at 9:00 am. The Huskies will be grouped with Western Connecticut State again and their first tee time will be 9:40 am.
