PORTLAND, Maine – Graduate student Remy Levin (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) and senior Belle Steeves (South Paris, Maine/Oxford Hills) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's golf team placed second on Saturday at The Southern Maine Cup, a modified-format event that features players competing in pairs in contest that features six holes of scramble, six holes of best ball, and six holes of alternate shot. The pair combined to shoot an 82 (+10) to place second behind the pair of Abby Flanagan and Amanda Forziati from the University of New England.
 
Junior Ryley Meyer (North Sioux City, S.D./Dakota Valley) played as part of two pairings. Meyer and senior Meaghan May (Framingham, Mass.) shot a 99 (+27) to place eighth. Meyer also played with junior Taylor Takatsu (West Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner Area) and the pair placed 10th with a score of 104 (+32). The event was Takatsu's intercollegiate golf debut.
