GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' field hockey and men's soccer teams will be hosting Stick It / Kick It to Cancer fundraising and awareness games on Saturday, October 4 at Hannaford Field in Gorham with the proceeds benefiting the Maine Cancer Foundation. As part of the University of Southern Maine's 2025 Homecoming and Family weekend, Huskies' field hockey team will be hosting Eastern Connecticut State University at 12:00 pm, while men's soccer will face Keene State College at 3:00 pm. The teams will be wearing Stick it to Cancer shirts for warmups prior to the games.
The event will have concessions and apparel available for sale in addition to raffle baskets and prizes. There will also be a raffle for fans to participate in a special halftime challenge at each game. Each challenge will be related to the specific sport with field hockey's contest being a stroke challenge and men's soccer holding a closet to the center dot challenge. Donation boxes will also be available at each game, as well as signs that can be filled with names of those who have fought against cancer.
We invite you to come and cheer on the Huskies while supporting a great cause. Fans can also show their support by wearing pink to the games.
