BRUNSWICK, Maine – The University of Southern Maine men's golf team sits in 18th place following the first round of the Bowdoin Invitational at Brunswick Golf Club. Freshman
Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) is tied for 69th and is the highest-ranking Husky on the leaderboard. Poirier fired an 80 (+8) in the first round.

Tufts University had the best team round with a combined score of one-over par at 289 strokes. Nick McCabe from Tufts and Chris Kauppila from Husson University tied for the top individual score with each player shooting a 70 (-2).

On the Course:
- Poirier had birdies on the second and 12th holes
- Freshman Alex Fournier (Augusta, Maine/Cony) is tied for 75th with an 81 (+9). He had birdies on the second and fourth holes.
- Freshmen Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) and Taylor Farr (Gorham, Maine) are tied for 85th. Each player fired an 83 (+11). Moore birdied the 12th hole.
- Junior Sam Farr (Gorham, Maine) is tied for 102nd with an 87 (+15).
