GORHAM, Maine – University of Southern Maine men's ice hockey head coach
Matt Pinchevsky has been selected to be a guest coach with the American Hockey League's Providence Bruins as part of the National Hockey League Coaches Association (NHLCA) Guest Coach Program. Pinchevsky will work with the Providence coaching staff during the team's preseason training camp as part of this professional development opportunity.
The NHLCA began a guest coaching initiative in 2022, selecting members of its BIPOC Coaches Program and Female Coaches Program to participate in NHL teams' development camps for the purposes of networking, professional development and visibility. The NHLCA and the American Hockey League extended this opportunity to AHL clubs for their 2024 preseason camp.
Pinchevsky led the Huskies to the program's first 10-win season since 2010-11 last season and the team had three upset wins over ranked teams including a 3-1 win over #11 Norwich University in the first round of the New England Hockey Conference Tournament.
Pinchevsky's second season in Gorham starts with a road game on November 1 at Endicott College.
